This action inquiry grew out from the intention of its co-initiators to help two social technologies-- The World Café and Theory U/Presencing—discovering and realizing their highest joint possibility.
We are prototyping a new research methodology inspired by the
principles and practices of Theoru U, the World Café, Appreciative
Inquiry and other disciplines.
Our intention is to develop, test and
improve that prototype in the current and future contexts. It is a generative research model of inquirying
into what becomes possible when social technologies connect for
emergence. To what new individual and collective capabilities can that
give rise?
We are using the Web and related technologies as important enablers of the prototype's scalability.
Here's a great little slide show that tells how young people may lead the change in organizations and habits, which can replace old, less effective, less efficient, and less enjoyable ways to work. Grown with the internet, they use it as a natural ally.
What can the rest of us learn from them? What do you think?
I want to congratulatae you for having the first community space on Nexus set up not by the Nexus team but community members themselves, in this case Vibeke, who just went ahead and created it. It is also the first community that grew out from an AoH training, to my knowledge, which has a shared sense of a mission and is supported in realizing it, by a virtual environment.
This morning I had an inspiring conversation with Nora Ganescu. Reflecting on our highlights from the recent AoH training in Belgium, which are highly relevant to current projects, Nora said, AoH should be the operating system for Evolutionary Nexus, and we became very enthused about it as we started exploring what it may mean. What woud that mean to you all? Please post your comment so that the Nexus hosting team can take it into account as we will discover what is our work...
In his new book on Theory U, MIT professor Otto Scharmer describes one of the 7 enabling conditions for inspiring a positive shift on a global scale:
"A new social art form I call Social Presencing Theater that stages media events and productions to connect different communities and their transformational stories by blending action research, theater, contemplative practices, intentional silence, generative dialogue and open space." read more »
"What is necessary is that there should be a turn in humanity felt by some or many towards the vision of this change, a feeling of its imperative need, the sense of its possibility, the will to make it possible in themselves and to find the way."
Writing about a radical transformation of human nature as indispensable if humanity is to survive, Aurobindo noted that what is necessary is that the turn towards its vision be felt by some or many. In my experience of meeting people, those who feel that turn are more and more numerous. read more »
I also opened a conversation about it for those who want to improve the flow of insights from our small, frequently very inspired and inspiring conferemce calls to our larger community of evolutionary wizards.
