Tracking Coyote: The Spirit of Play in the Art of Hosting Conversations that Matter

- By David and Colleen Stevenson

“When we come together to play and be we are truly ourselves. When we are truly ourselves it is wonderful and when we act collectively in that wonder we do transformative work for our community and our world.”

A 'form of container' for AoH in Europe?

Simone wrote on Dec 6 '08:

I am hearing more and more questions in Belgium and around (Holland, UK) when there will be the next AoH(s) in Europe next year.
I would like to sense in together with you if and when it could be time for the next Belgian and Uk AoHs... maybe towards the early summer? Or are there any plans already?
My experience form past AoHs is that the time to start sending into that would be now!

And for your info, there is something brewing around the first AoH in German, but we are still sensing if the time is ripe... ;)

Lots of love,
Simone

Going Commercial

Here is a harvest poem from an open space session on AOH and business from Steve Skinner from Leeds in UK. (recent  Art of Hosting training in UK).

Going Commercial

With the public and private sector, how do we make a start?
Do I just talk about their problems, or ask what they feel in their heart?

And how do I get an invite? Should I focus on just one thing?
Shall I make a dynamic, high profile, power point presentation -
Or just turn up and sing?

And what is my marketing strategy – how can I best explain?
When really I just build relationships and heal their hurt and pain.

Can I use a dialogue? What’s my methodology?  read more »

Hosting and holding the Art of Hosting as a field

I felt the inner need to bring a lot of conversations and ideas together, and harvest it out to our community and especially to the stewards. Please read first the article written by Bob Wing and myself after our conversations late Summer. I first try to paint the picture of what 'the whole' is about, and then end this piece with some of the questions that I see.

I know that a lot here is written in short style, not much flesh to the bones... but please ask or add your comments, ideas and build on it further!

AoH Stewards: Schadow and Structure

AoH Stewards: Schadow and StructureA mindmap of the Open Space session (in the Art of Hosting Stewards gathering, The Shire June 2008) on Schadow and Structure, called and harvested by Ravi Tangri.

Guardianship

Since the second Guardians Gathering, May 2008 - we now hold new clarity on the specific learning that we convene and host at Axladitsa (and therefore the nature of the emerging guardianship called for) – Continuous Collective Inquiries – Inquiries that create fusion between different threads of practices which through the fusion create new collective entities that can support us humans to evolve and work with new levels of complexity. Our guardians circle is such a continuous collective inquiry. Other inquiries are called by guardians such as the Art of Protection and the Strategic Presensing with the Tarot.

Seeing with New Eyes

This past week – I have been living in a state of consciousness that is opening up a new vista of my life, work and Axladitsa. I now realise that I have been in a deep place of transition – having left my life physically in the UK and my predominant pattern of making a living through hosting work in the form of being invited into organisations and communities, i.e. in dominant world language – process consultancy work, - I have been in this limbo place, having left what was known but not yet reaching the other shore.  read more »
