A 'form of container' for AoH in Europe?
Simone wrote on Dec 6 '08:
I am hearing more and more questions in Belgium and around (Holland, UK) when there will be the next AoH(s) in Europe next year.
I would like to sense in together with you if and when it could be time for the next Belgian and Uk AoHs... maybe towards the early summer? Or are there any plans already?
My experience form past AoHs is that the time to start sending into that would be now!
And for your info, there is something brewing around the first AoH in German, but we are still sensing if the time is ripe... ;)
Lots of love,
Simone
With a response from Maria:
Hi Simone – it would be wise to have an AoH in Belgium early summer and perhaps Uk one in the autumn. Say June and Oct/Nov. Just a thought. Sarah and I are in conversation with Jennifer about UK AoH – and a hosting team needs to form around this. So – would be happy to speak of European AoH’s with whomever want to gather. Also – we are going to be hosting an AoH Meaning in Place at Axladitsa which we are still shaping in May – a more specific one that has to do for people hosting spaces and also initiatives bringing meaning to place – but still an AoH. Oh – and also Filiz has been speaking of doing one in Turkey. So just adding more ingredients from south east Europe to the AoH pot.
Much love
Maria
and myself:
In Belgium, more precise in Flanders, we will call a Dutch-spoken AoH in February. We just have set the dates: 18-20 + 21 Febr. We still need to ask some people to host the hosting team. Hosting team will be - at least - Lieven, Erik and myself. We were thinking of asking Maria and Sarah to be the experienced ones...
There is also a starting conversation between the French speaking AoH people (France, Quebec, Belgium), I think the first thing they want to do is kind of find the right translation for some of the basic concepts.
I have no plans so far to call an English spoken AoH, but I am happy to contribute!
With love,
Ria
Question raised by Maria:
As I read this emerging AoH training flow – what comes to mind is how Berkana Institute has been stewarding the AoH in US – and wonder if we need a form of container to steward this work in Europe – or do we have enough of one with email connection and just informing each other of what is happening?

Practical proposal and hosting group?
Did you have anything specific in mind regarding this 'form of container'?
What I have been thinking is that we could make an online registration possibility within ENexus, if this would be useful. Of course this would mean, that somebody is handling that - and paid for it. I know Berkana gets a certain % of the workshop fee to cover these expenses. As long as I am not fully booked with hosting and other work, I could offer myself to do this, and being paid for it.
Besides this practicality it might be wise to have a little core group, a hosting group, or even a contact person, who steps up to do just this: keep her eye on the unfolding of this work in Europe. Aren't a lot of us gathered here (in this email tread) with the meta-harvest group that once met at George's place? Is this what we need to do?
Love, Ria
