There were about twenty of us helping to share Nonviolent Communication at Communication For Change (the event in India i rushed back from to come to the salon). While we were there primarily to teach to the thousands of people who came, there was also time and attention for each other. Late nights at our dormitory there was laughter and crying - sharing and supporting each other about our lives and of course our experiences at the event itself. I noticed myself comparing it to an International Intensive Training, and started thinking of it as an outward-facing intensive. What would it be like to organize large events like this from the beginning with the intent that a large circle of teachers connect and learn with each other as they connect and share with the larger group? more... I got even more excited as this vision expanded at the Evolutionary Salon, where many practices were present. What would it be like to organize large events with several such circles of teachers of different practices - Nonviolent Communication, meditation, Open Space, World Cafe, Appreciative Inquiry, Focusing, (imagine your favorite process here)? Such thinking brings me a lot of hope about the possibility of reaching more people, and developing more collective awareness of and experience with all of these practices, and process experimentation in general.
