Purpose of ENexus

This is a suggestion of how to cut the purpose statement even sharper. It also reflects that even though I think I do understand and connect with the words on higher perspectives etc. they didn't really add to my understanding of purpose.

 

Evolutionary Nexus facilitatetes the ongoing emergence of conscious humanity by connecting evolutionary agents and initiatives.

Evolutionary Nexis amplifies the creative resonance among practitioners of evolutionary leadership.

Our Commitment

Evolutionary Nexus is meant to grow into a community of evolutionary agents from a wide range of schools of thought and practices, converging in the perspective that the social, economic, moral, and spiritual evolution of humankind is ongoing and never ending, and we are living in a time of jump into unprecedented opportunities and dangers of global scale.

Evolutionary Nexus will provide all networks and communities working for the conscious evolution of social systems, with electronic and social technologies capable to co-evolve with them and free the greater synergy needed for planet-wide, evolutionary transformation.

 

"It will support individuals, movements and organizations seeking global solutions to eradicate poverty and today's gaping inequities that are the source of many global crises."

- I think this narrows the target in a way that is not intended - ENexus is not specifically on poverty and inequiteis, is it?

Changes in the purpose statement

I left out the sentence on poverty. Regarding leaving out the ecosystem part, I'm not sure whether it would make the statement sharper. I use the term Purpose" as our unique contribution to the whole. There might be other initiatives too doing the work of connecting, that's why i think it is useful to leave in the statement the qualifier  that starts with "by increasing the connectivity in the ecosystem..."

I can't change the statement in the upper right corner, till Monday.

it can be changed when it is time for it, but this proces of sharpening the wording of the purpose is important by it self.

Right now the purpose states: facillitate the emergence of... and it could be read as if it has not happened before now - that is why I think it is important to add "continued" or "ongoing" emergence.

 

"Ecosystem" is a specific metaphor from livings systems thinking, and allthough I understand it, and think it covers well many attributes, it is only a metaphor, and in Ken Wilber-language it is a lower-right quadrant one, and it tends to rule out the other three possible perspectives - that is why I would rather be without.

purpose - revisited

I am getting more and more clear in my own mind (learning it slowly) what I think we are about in Enexus - what is our purpose.  I am in favour of stating only what we really know, and what is really of meaning to communicate, and leave the rest out - possibly for furure clarification. In that light i suggest:

Mission – what we are here for

Evolutionary Nexus contributes to the emergence of conscious humanity by increasing the connectivity in the ecosystem of evolutionary agents and initiatives in order to support realisation of the highest potential of each contribution to the whole.

(this should also be the upperright corner text on this site, I think)

 

Action – what we do to back up our mission

Evolutionary Nexus provides networks, organizations and communities working for the conscious evolution of social systems with electronic and social technologies that amplifies the creative resonance among practitioners of evolutionary leadership and supports sensing from and acting on the biggest context, individually and collectively, with the highest clarity and deepest compassion.

How we do it

As of feb 2006 we are a coreteam consisting of George, Ria and Finn, and a site (evolutionarynexus.org) with a begining community of members and visitors. We evolve from there, welcoming more to join the coreteam, as we stay alert to and learn in to what principles and practices we engage as they unfold and reveal them selves in our working together.


Visions – what we hope to see our action manifest into

Finn:

I am in the coreteam because I want to support and enable, that all of what could be seen as separate initiatives and events adressing conscious evolution of social systems can know about each other, support each other, learn from each other, and that we can understand all of the individual initiatives and events as really one overall evolutionary proces.

I have a vision of transparency on the insigths and learnings that emerges from all kinds of interactions and conversations, in gatherings, across gatherings, in email-exchanges, chatrooms, forums, phoneconversations – transparency in the sense that no matter what form and format the conversation takes, ENexus offers and supports seemless ways of making the richness of the conversations available to the larger community of evolutionary agents.

Ria:

George:

(so we have clear purpose, we now what we do (for now), we stay attentive to the principles we commit to enact, and we listen to each others visions - that is the level of clarity I think we are capable of sharing with ourselves and other.

I leave out business model stuff - the businesmodel development should ride on actually having business to do - meaning having clients, I think. (I am a pragmatic....)
