Lion, Jair, John (Abbe), Kaliya, Brandon .. did I miss anyone? What is it that draws together this creative/ artistic/ compu/ techno/ open/ activist/ deeply moral/ nonviolent/ participatory/ musico-poetic emergent collective?
Portland has become one of the hubs for open source, wiki, and a restless breed of young creatives. Looking backwards from the distant future 70 years from now, I see this as a kind of meeting of the clan of wizards on what I like to call our New Silk Road. These are the young visionaries who embrace the nonludditic vision of a compu-techno world as the new camels that might carry us across the desert toward their vision. Others just as visionary (Jennifer for example) warn us with cautions of dystopia. Many in the world politely scratch their heads, while others focus their gaze on the Super Bowl searching for samadhi.
Kaliya, Lion, Jair told me about the Portland event while at the Ev Salon. John emailed me. Amazingly I find out from John’s email that it’s right on my campus at University Place just a few blocks away. It’s called Recent Changes Camp. You might find yourself interested in checking it out at

Namaste’ to everyone,
-Jack :)
PS: My apology if I’ve mischaracterized anyone, but I have no doubt this group will let me know! :)

Tom Buxton too
Any audio interview from the frontlines of the wiki revolution?
Craig Hamilton & Tom Atlee
Craig Hamilton is here now too, to see Tom and catch up on the Evolutionary Spirituality Wiki. I want to get caught up on that too...
Tom says this feels like another branch of the same energy that was at the Evolutionary Salon. He feels the repercussions of the Ev Salon mixing here with some other energies. One conversation here generated a new form of Open Space, which he'll write about soon.
Craig says: hi everyone! It's been great keeping the connections from the salon alive. He's connected with about half a dozen people in various ways, including new work collaborations and evolutionary friendships. It definitely feels like the salon is alive in his life, and the threads that were created are getting stronger.
chocolate being reciprocated
thank you jack. i see it as we're all in this field together and as we hold that intention, well then i believe that we haven't even seen yet what is possible. and i love gift economies. how about a digital photo in exchange for the yummy chocolate :)

Re: inspired by your description
Hi Sheri,
You might be at another stop along the Road this weekend, but we will still hold a place for you here in all the ways that we can. And I owe you some chocolate!
-Jack
You missed 3! Also: Evolutionary Edge of Software Development
...did I miss anyone?
Yes: Tom Atlee and Rich Henry, and Joseph McCormick signed up but i haven't seen him yet. Tomorrow i offer a session on the Evolutionary Edge of Software Development (that page will have something on it after i post session notes tomorrow). The idea developed partly out of conversations and other exploration around our own site here. The session is in Room A from 11a-12:30p - i give the time and place because there are several ways of Participating Remotely - http://recentchangescamp.org/ParticipatingRemotely (don't click on that link - copy the whole URL to your address bar).
inspired by your description
hi jack and other evolsalon wizards,
i am inspired by this description of this meeting of the clan of wizards on the modern day silk road - when we look back with hindsight. beautiful. i was wanting to be there but other commitments call me to stay in the northern part of cascadia. i hope you all will be letting us know about any irc channels that are happening and blog entries that get created and cocreated. i absolutely LOVE that all of you will be there continuing the field that we created together on whidbey. and a field that is so generative. i can't wait to hear more. please look out for a fellow visionary from 2people.net - phil. he is a wizard as well :)
open space meeting open source can only be a fertile ground taking us all into new territory!
love
sheri
