What is the "edge" we want to move?

Two pioneers of socio-economic thought, John Hagel and John Seely Brown, introduced some new, edge-related distinctions that friends in the "Moving the Edge" community, and beyond, may want to read and  comment on.

The edge is difficulty

I often have a sense that the edge is very difficult. To me it is where I am able to combine and be present in my deepest personal process and be aware of this process myself with all my collected wisdom. While at the same time being shattering nervous and absolutely in the unknown, somehow, there needs to be a mindful awareness to the whole image – there needs to be a certain focus from an intellectual perspective.

Right now it dawns on me that this could be why the edge is best addressed in collectives. I definitely find that if I myself have to hold a perspective of reflection and bigger picture while exploring body signals, subconscious emergent thoughts and being totally dedicated in speaking while I know not what to say next, I get a frustrating flip-flop view of the world.

Possibly this is not totally clear, but what I want to say is that I think the edge is a very difficult place to be, and often frustrating as well. While present at the edge it might feel like the most stupid idea, but if someone can pick the idea up and take it further, then it was the edge.

what is the edge ?

meditating upon the question what is the edge we want to move, I feel inspired to put out my version of the edge on this site.At the same time its my first try in this space and Im courious to find out how it feels to go "out   there"!

_the edge is what we do not include in our primary proces and identification. So its what we do not consciously identify us with.

Beyond the edge is our secondary processes. To be conscious about what we fear or  which processes  that comes in the foreground in us that we might try to push away, and to bring that into the middle and let it have a space there, is to move the edge in my opinion.

So to move the edge requires some who are willing to bring in the unknown or disawoved into the group, and that might create moments of discomfort or fear while the edge either moves or the group goes back to a kind of status quo in some sense, again identifying with the order or primary proces.

I think its absolutely neccessary to create a forum of inclusion in the group .That everything has equal right to be spoken or lived, for moving the edge. If we dont feel safe enough, we will never dare to be the possible agent for change of the edges position.I also think that the dedication to be as authentic as possible is neccesary for it to happen.

Having said this I must confess that writing this and sending it to open space moves my edge in the sense that I feel a little fear in doing it.Im not used to talk in open space without sensing/meeting the persons Im talking to.
