New Experimental Forum for ES3

There is a new forum, Evolutionary Nexus: Caring for the Whole, that has been developed to help create an intimate space where participants for ES3 can begin to connect with one another.

It began as a forum for just the planning team and has evolved into a space for the participants as well. The current vision is that the Caring for the Whole space will serve as sort of a womb leading up to the salon. A smaller place where people can become acquainted with one another and the shared theme/purpose of Evolutionary Salon 3. This main Nexus site is being seen as the larger community which the little forum is connected to. We imagine there will be a progression from the event-based community into this larger evolutionary community. This is all an experiment...

Here is the original welcome letter that was used when the forum was just for the planners. I'm not sure where it should live so I am posting it here.

Hello, I'm little seed (Ashley in her role as site admin!) and it is my pleasure to welcome you to this new forum. This forum is a playground for us to experiment with ways of working and being together online.

I hope that you will find this to be a simple web-space that has an intiutive interface and transparent architecture. Together we can create an environment for generative dialogue, maximized communication, active participation, connection and a sense of safety.

This forum is just an experiment . It is an attempt to experientially discover the online needs for a planning team like us that is collectively bringing to life an evolutionary salon. This forum is not THE answer; it is a step along the way, helping to focus our attention so that we may recognize what is important and valuable in an online space. There are long-term drawbacks to this new forum, and I encourage you to read about them so that you are well informed (scroll to the bottom of the feedback post to read about the disadvantages).

I would like to share with you the four main intentions guiding me in creating this forum. The use of an online space could:

1. Provide an opportunity for us to deepen our capacity to experience ourselves as a whole -- deepening our collective identity, strengthening our awareness of and ability to care for ourselves and the whole, helping us to become more conscious.
2. Expand the transparency of our efforts -- This forum could help generative conversations be witnessed by a greater number of people, increase participation and generate greater collective intelligence.
3. Broaden the scope of our work/play beyond the conference calls and emails -- When time and passion permits, individuals may choose to explore topics of interest and participate in dialogues.
4. Create a space for collective reflection, feedback and naming meta learnings -- We could witness and support one another in embracing dynamic tensions that arise, sharing and reflecting together on our individual and collective evolution and growth, and actively learn from our experience.

Please feel free to add other intentions to this list by responding to this post (press "postreply").

I am available to help you find a place of comfort and ease in using this new collective space. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions or share your concerns or opinions.

And please do take a moment to respond to this thread by saying 'hello' and letting us know you are here.

And most importantly... have fun!!
