Report from the Cycle 2 conference calls on October 15 and 22, 2008

An Inquiry Into Possible Synergies and Collaborations Between

The World Cafe and Presencing Social Technologies

Cycle 2: October 15 and 22, 2008 Conference Call Conversations Among Practitioners

Practitioners:*  Phil Cass, Chris Corrigan, Judith Flick, Greg Giuliano, Kathy Jourdain,
Neil Olson, Maria Skordialos, Ravi Tangri and Sarah Whiteley
Researchers:  Katrina Rogers and Fred Steier
Hosting Team: Ria Baeck, Sheryl Erickson and George Pór

Selection of Participants

The Hosting Team solicited the names of recommended participants for Cycle 2 from thought leaders of the World Café and the Presencing Institute, as well as persons known by the Hosting Team to be experienced and articulate in the use of both social technologies.  A decision was made to include in each conversation of Cycle 2 an institution-based researcher.  A decision was also made to form two small groups very carefully composed, rather than schedule one large group of all recommended participants. These specially composed groups built in practitioner experience in diverse settings and differing circumstances for applications of the social technologies. It also enabled greater individual participation per conversation and ease in managing the relatively short (90 minutes each) inquiry conference calls.
